    My home made knife.

I made this knife over 30 years ago. The blade was made from an old file.
I carefully ground it to shape without letting it get hot. The brass parts were made
from a bushing I found in the scrap bin at work. The grips are birch that came
from the kindling box. The rivets that hold the grips on are brake lining rivets.
Total cost zero dollars just my time.

Nice !!!! If the blade is made from a file, my guess is that youd have to be very careful about impacts/dropping it. How is it for maintaining an edge ?

I have been abusing it for over 30 years and it has stood up well.
It holds an edge better than any knife I own or have owned.
