Guy I used to work for nearly lost his thumb with one of those. Somehow the firing pin released with the bolt fully forward but before he pushed the handle down. Shortest goose hunt ever.....

I'm surprised he managed to strip a round out of the magazine!? It was my dad's old goose gun, and although it works just fine, I don't take it out anywhere...its lovingly referred to as the howitzer. It's gotta weigh 10lbs and is loooonnnngggg. I always thought the adjustable choke is interesting.

I love the bolt Mossberg's, they are my favorite shotguns. Still use them for small game and migratory birds every year.

My old man has a 2-3/4" Mossberg 500 with a 26" barrel and the same choke from the factory. It was pretty high tech in the late 70's early 80's....

...This one of Dad's is older than that. I would think mid '60's? I recall the butt cushion pad being rock hard on it in the '70's Lol!

Is it a Mossberg? Is it a shotgun? Yes? Then it's welcome in this thread.

That thing's actually really cool. I can't remember seeing a bolt action shotgun in person outside of when I did my RPAL course way back in the day (like...10 years ago)
I'd rather make a difference than a dollar.

I remember when Marlin 'Goose Guns' were all the rage, though I was too young to have one. Everyone seemed to think that 30+ inch barrel would get you that much closer to the birds....

Mossberg 200K pump action. 12 Gauge. My father gave this to me this year. I like it. It is heavy, And in good shape. It also has a two round magazine. I took it out shooting. Shoots good for an old timer, But never will replace the 870 rem. It also has a built in choke.

Not my pic, But looks like this one.

1955 for the choke. I found this. I hope the link works.

Mossberg thread, huh? What's a good boom stick without a bayonet?
