    Bad Experience/Lots of Frustration --Lanz shooting supplies

    I contacted Lanz by email looking for a 9 round magazine for my Zastava M57. Dave called me back and said that he had one.

    I called him last Saturday, and was specific about what I needed, and was again assured that they had those mags in stock; so I told them that I would drive down and get them. The drive was almost 2 1/2 hours each way for me. I got there, and no mags; and he tried to tell me that the 8 round mags for the TT33 would work (not a chance). He assured myself and my wife that he could get those mags for me from the US and that he would be in touch on Tuesday.

    Tuesday came and went but I contacted them Wed. and was told that he has Tuesdays off. I was told in an email that he would be back to me Thursday (today); no response.

    Save yourselves the frustration of dealing with someone that not only seems not to care, but who seems to know very little about what they are talking about.

    I regret having ever contacted them, and I think that Gun Owners of Canada could do a whole lot better than Lanz as a sponsor.

    One mistake does not a terrible dealer make.

    A quick googling suggests the magazines are compatible. A more in depth googling shows they are not. With all the different guns out there, it is hard to get to know them all (I'm still trying).

    Instead of just going on the forum and slagging the dealer, maybe give them a couple days to get back to you. You really can only generalize about the goings on at the other end of this deal.

    Well, it sounds like successive failures in communication at the very least. Mostly on the dealer end. And dealer apparently missed a few stated deadlines. Three strike rule might apply here...

    And a five hour trip would up the cranky factor, when told stuff in stock that wasn't. A put them on hold, pay over phone and pickup kinda thing woulda helped right off the bat. But, hours of anticipation followed by hours of immediate disappointment because you were improperly informed by the staff will not help patience on follow ups. He likely spent almost as much on gas as on the intended purchase, for little reason.

    One thing I've learned about the Canadian firearms industry or any Canadian industry where the goods are highly controlled, if a store doesn't actually have something in stock but says they can get it for you at some later date, give up and find somebody who actually has it. Every experience I've ever had the date where they supposedly will get the said thing comes and goes, you don't get the item but rest assured it's on it's way and will be here shortly. Never comes... Next thing you know you waited almost a year for something some big name U.S. exporter could have got to you within a week.

    Ya i'd be cranky after a drive that long to find the goods not the right ones. As for waiting for parts, I ordered a spare mag for my 527 17 Hornet close to 2 years ago.

    so after a couple days and one trip you are basically asking GOC to remove a site sponsor?, maybe wait for some resolution before going to multiple forums and constantly copying and pasting the exact same post over and over,
    sometimes in the business world, one things said, yet, a supplier could have issues, so the item isnt available, or they had to call around various suppliers and are now waiting to hear back themselves on the issue, give it a day or two and see what happens before crying on the internet
