My go-to load for 357mag is 15gr of 2400 behind a 158gr copper plated bullet.

Step it up to 15.5gr for some massive fireballs and noise.

Another discussion elsewhere I recall one fellow who warned that lil gun was extremely erosive of forcing cones.

I never followed up on that since I had other powders, but I didn't think it made much empirical sense when h110 is a similar hot number but didn't come with that warning attached.

I've got a bunch of 4227 to use up. It's similar to 2400, save that it sucks: Leaves a lot of unburnt crumbs to foul up the gubbins :/

Thanks. Privacy Badger (an add-on for Firefox) was blocking them. I had to add imagebam to it's 'allowed' list.

I've used li'l gun in my sp101 put about 300 rounds of it through it and forcing cone looks fine not saying it can't cause erosion just seems fine in my ruger

It was great reviewing this thread, I understand it better this time.

Currently trying 158 Campro, 15.0 of H110, Fed mag primers.

Seems to run both the 686 and new Marlin 1894c quite well.

    Feels close.
