Is it just me, or does this particular thread look a lot like those on cgn?

CGN just seems so closed and unfriendly.

You can hardly view any of the forums without making an account.
I'm not disputing the ban for my choice of username. As I've stated, I understand that forum owners have the right to get their own policies.

They just seem very strict and unwelcoming.
But what about 75,000 post, welcome committee?

Well what you expect when you're bashing/jabbing against another forum?

Probably just as well it was rejected by admin.
For example, it would be bad to have something you wrote quoted in the newspaper, not for the content of the post, but for the alias. From time to time CGNer posts get quoted in newspapers.

This site is much more open I find, however my one mild grievance is that I got an infraction for swearing on a post because we're all trying to keep this site family friendly. I get it, and that's cool, but I see many others swearing, including moderators. I just figure it should be a fair playing field. Not that I care about infractions. I just got an infraction on CGN for having my location listed as "on CGN getting infractions and loving it"....lol.

Has anyone ever tried the forum Canadiangunslingers? Doesn't seem to be very active.

Your record shows that you've only gotten an official warning for cursing, 0 points. We've tried various things in the past couple years, but finally drew our line in the sand as edited swearing (f**k, sh*t, etc...) is OK, but warning followed by infraction beyond that. Leaving everyone to adult resulted in long strings of curse words. Quietly editing posts and polite in thread warnings resulted in long strings of cursing. It just seems to snowball into extremes.....
