Here's mine. Tula, '53. The varnish started coming off shortly after I bought it, so I sanded it all down and teak oiled it. Looks pretty great, imo.

I was looking at buying a rail for mine, but I'm kinda turned off at the mounting on the cover plate. I shoot corrosive ammo, so it would annoy the piss outta me to have to take it off every time I take the thing out. Not to mention throwing the scope off. Is the plate mounting repeatable enough that the scope stays semi-zeroed after cleaning the thing?

I'd look into a side mount if your serious about wanting a scope on it.

Liberty is not a thing for the great masses of men. It is the exclusive possession of a small and disreputable minority, like knowledge, courage and honor. It takes a special sort of man to understand and enjoy liberty and he is usually an outlaw in democratic societies. - H.L. Mencken

Magwedge or Kodiak Defense full rails hold zero very well with no drilling

i don't know for you guys but i shoot mine with its original iron sights at 50yards and i get a 3 moa using
norinco non corrosive ammo on any day. my friend installed a scope on his and pretty much gets the same kind of groupings . my point being that the sks inherent accuracy isn't going to get much better with a scope.

i still have quite good eye sight though..

    Hunting rifle - SKS sporter

Nice walnut sporter stock, flush magazine, Chinese mismatch sks. All I need now is a sporter style rear site and maybe a side scope mount.

Got my 1952r Tula a few days ago, Tapco stock in olive drab. I have a Murray's firing pin on order, once it's installed I'll take it to the range.
