Shoot next Sat. 100 rounds carbine, 100 rounds pistol, 50 rounds shotgun. For the shot gun bring at least 5 rounds of buckshot or slugs.

Make sure you're sighted in.

If you don't have extra mags and can't get any, practice loading your mags....In fact you'll be manually loading them for a portion of the shoot so...

Oh, the weather should hold, so come on out and have some fun.

So, I can't get my Ithaca FTE issue fixed by then, will I be able to run through without a shotty?

Yes, the carbine / shotgun / pistol stages are seperate. I'll have one you could borrow as well.

It was a great shoot! Lots of fun and a great group to shoot with. Thanks to the club and volunteers for their effort! I look forward to more shoots and bringing out more shooters.

Videos will be up in a while, we're looking at a compilation, this one with the next one. I hope to post a teaser soon. though.

The course was deceptive, as well as simple. Steel at 125 yds shot from a 9 hole barrier. Then, engaging steel at 30-40 yds, with clays for pistol at around 10 yds. Then around 200 yds carbine to finish up. For the shotgun portion we engaged the clays with the shotgun and steel was for pistol. fast paced and not the easiest course to shoot with an accelerated heart rate. Some fun.

Next one's going to be a sniper / spotter shoot. More info up soon. So far, it'll be a team shoot. Partners, so both members of the team have to be able to take on either role.

I have some good ideas for the sniper shoot that will get the guys moving! Thinking snipers hides with unknown distance targets with facial recognition targets!!!!! I see this one taking over the whole range !!!! What you think I/k

That sounds like enough fun to get my wrinkled old a_s out. Think I could do it with a 45/70?

Cheers!

You could, but you'd have to be quick and probably need optics.

That sounds like a lot of fun. A lot.:( Do it again next summer, and I'll wander out:)!

Are carbine engagements at those distances the norm in these shoots? I see a variable scope in my future.

Yup. we're trying to get everything in from 10 to 500+ yds. If the range is set up, then we'll go out further. The rifles have the capability, so we'll plan the shoots around that. We hope to have everything from door kicker stages to shooting targets across the steppes, as it were

Our club is really more of a four gun club. we do include lots of distance shooting that lots of other set ups don't ! I am a firm believer that your going to engage targets when you see them (100-500m) instead of 2-15 m. But with that said there is still a ton of ammo shot well under 100 m at our matches!
