Ok, so I have a dilemma...

Do I start building an M14 EBR now, or save up and wait for Tactical Imports to bring in the FAMAE 542's.

I've owned 2 M14's in the past, but don't have any at the moment.

My plan for the M14 build would likely end up costing over $2000 after all is said and done (Krieger barrel, JAE or similar stock/chassis, etc.), so the price difference will be minimal. The advantage of going the M14 route is I have something I can shoot now, and build over time as I save up for whatever parts I need.

Thoughts? I really like the looks of the FAMAE, and since I already have a Swiss, they would go well together... but I'm bad at saving up large amounts of money for a gun, as I'm tempted to get something else in the mean time... lol.

In my opinion, I would go for the FAMAE. Like you, I did own the M1A/M14 platform. But, parts for it are getting rare and expensive. The FAMAE is new and looks really robust. Tactical Imports is really a great addition to companies that cater to us gun owners in Canada. I just hope they also carry parts in case the FAMAE needs it.:)
