View Full Version : Savage Hog Hunter, .223

No DBM! Ugh.
Irons sights, a rear peep sight is available.
Muzzle is threaded
Price point is decent, under $500 before S&H/Tax

A cz 527 carbine would be nicer I'd imagine, but for a truck gun the savage has the low price point and should have good accuracy.

LW, you frequently mention the CZ 527. You always come back to it. Just thinking out loud here but wouldn't you be better off to wait a bit and get the rifle you really want? I think you will always regret not getting one. Just sayin' . . .

I agree with Canuck. It's almost Christmas! You deserve a CZ.

Especially after surviving the JW105 auto-disassembly!

Well, hopefully the savage 25 with the chopped barrel will be back into my hands soon.
I suppose I can wait. Might end up being a .17hornet CZ though. I think firearm purchases will be on hold till the new year.

I have been wanting one of those for awhile, but just can't bring myself to buy it in .223.

It would be a great deer gun in .308, but I reload .270, so I think I am gonna have to make one just like it in .270 Win.

One thing to be aware of is that this gun is pretty damned heavy.

The barrel is the same contour as the 10PC and in fact I would say this is a Savage 10 PC with Irons, minus the Accustock.

At least you know it will be accurate. ;)

The barrel contour is one reason it appeals to me. I like heavy barrels.

Ugh, I want one of each.
