Dose any one own this savage 22 magnum? I am thinking of buying one but I would like to hear some first hand experiences with this gun. I have read reviews on other websites but I'm not 100% sold on it.

I have a 93f in .22 magnum and I love it. You can ask me about mine if you want, it not quite the same as the BTVS though.

My biggest question question is, is it worth the 419$? I was at a store last night and saw it and asked to hold it. It was really comfortable wile holding it but I wasn't impressed about how loose the clip felt on it. I have never owned a 22 magnum before.

I thought about that gun, looked at it, decided I could have a very decent Marlin XT-22MR for less than half the price & get a decent scope to go with it with some of the 'saved' money. It's this one:

It has proved to be a totally fun, and accurate, little gun.

Otoh, I too have a Savage 93 in .22LR and it is a really nice gun as well.

My 93f is a tack driver. The mag gets nice and tight when the bolt is closed. Its only 239$. Comes drilled and tapped. Check out youtube. I personally dont think the extras in the bvts are necessary unless ur in a competition, and it makes it heavier if ur hunting.

The BTVS is a FVSS with a stock that adds $155 to the MSRP price of a 93 FVSS
Seems like a lot, but I guess it'd cost ya near that to order a stock from boyds.

I shot the BTVS in .17HMR at the hunt camp last year. Very comfortable, but definitely heavy and for me, the thumbhole stock isn't worth the added cost and weight. More of a benchrest stock than one you'd take for a walk. 'Course maybe that's what you're looking for. :)

Savage rimfire mags tend to wobble a bit in my experience, but I've never had any functionality issues.

Thanks every one I appreciate everyone's feed back. The most I would do with it it target and coyote hunt

I have one in a wood stock. It is phenomenal. I put 5 rounds in the O on one of those champion yote targets @ 50 yards. It is an absolute tack driver.

I didn't pay $419 for it. I got it for a bargain basement price from a local gun store that couldn't sell it. It was brand new.

I would rather pay less than $419 however.
