Lone Butte Fish and Wildlife Association is sponsoring a 9 stage, 300 round, 3 gun shoot on June 7th. We are located just outside of 100 Mile House, BC., south central BC.
Here are the details from our website: http://www.lonebuttefishandwildlife.com/Default.aspx?Page_GUID=e670

Well it is a bit unusual but we are getting registrations already for
our Redneck 3 Gun. As you may know its 300 rounds, 9 stages and a
one day shoot on June 7, 2014, with a steel shoot off during
stats. We now have arranged the following:

We are going to give away by draw
1 Mossberg flattop 20" .223
1 Mossberg 88 pump 12 gage
1 Baretta 9MM
IF YOU CAN'T SHOOT THE MATCH YOU CAN REGISTER FOR TICKETS ON THE GUNS

There will be other guns to give away from our stage sponsors

We are going to use USPSA rules. We are allowing Cowboy action
shooters to register and shoot with their guns and we will allow the
staging of extra pistols on the stages and the wearing of two guns
for the match.

Cash Prizes for the steel shoot off with a set handicap for top shooters.

There will be trophy s for 1st overall including Cowboy.

WE hope to have the 3 motels on line then and give away 3 rooms by
May 15, 2014.

There will be many other neat prizes from stage sponsors to give away
at the match including best dressed Redneck.

Thanks a bunch to Canuck and Strewth for helping me with my first 3 gun shoot. It was a blast (figuratively and literally). I gotta do another one of these.

No problem, I had a great (if long!) time:). Maybe someone will post some pictures at some point....

Oh, and kudos to you doo925, for doing (dooing?) 98% of the course of fire with your BUIS! Did you get your red dot working? Watching you ring the gongs at 200 was a treat. Great shotgun work too, especially considering the amount of time you had to practice with that particular one!

You are so subtle, Strewth! Here are some pics of the event. I felt fortunate to have been in this squad. Easily the most fun one to be in. Yes, doo925, considering it was your first 3 gun you really stayed cool under fire, ie., when your Vortex packed it in. You just switched to iron sights and took out those 60 yds and then 160 yd gongs like a pro.
Also felt very fortunate to have Marlin Kachmar and Geoff House as our main RO's. Very professional guys but also very helpful. Can't wait for next year. Maybe your wife will let us win the gun next year, doo925!! I am hanging onto my ticket next time. Still think she put her name on all three of them, lol!

Tactical shotguns and AR's everywhere!! Some nice rigs to be seen.

Waiting for the beep on the very first stage of doo925's very first 3gun.

OK, got the hang of it, first shot gun.

Oh, and now the AR. Like this part!

Mnmmmmhhh, nice Shadow you got there Strewth!

Strewth pontificating: "A pound of bacon prior to any 3 gun or CQB shoot is mandatory for success!"

Six shots above the table.

And four below:

Strewth and doo925 were both very fast on this stage, accurate too!

Kris, another member of our squad is a local shooter who started out doing CQB with us and is now doing 3 gun. It's infectious!!

Strewth shooting his way to his AR. You can just see the 4 metal gongs at 160 yds. away. He actually has to do shotgun next. You can see the 3 clays and the 3 mini pepper poppers awaiting his birdshot on the far right.
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i293/picsalot_2006/IMG_1615_zpscf47d5f3.jpg

Everybody loved this part. You can see the two orange pepper poppers between the tires. doo925 has just downed the one on the left. When it hits the ground it launches a clay bird up and you have to nail that as well. Very exciting.

Most of us managed to get our birds. Here is one I shot that my sis luckily snapped at the right moment. It is just above the tall green shrubbery.

A close up. Couldn't resist. Perfect moment.

Oh, yeah! More around the corner!

Well, I thought that went well. Any bacon left?

Hey, pictures! Cool!
Man, that one pic my Shadow makes me look fat. Maybe cut back a titch on the bacon. Maybe not:).
And yes, thank you very much to our RO's, great couple of selfless guys that braved the sun to watch me fumble shotgun reloads:).
I really enjoyed our squad as well, much hilarity and camaraderie. Superb bunch of people to shoot with.
That really was a great course, I heard a tentative July for next year, and I will definitely be there!

And yah, you guys should buy yer own draw tickets next year:p.

I have heard guns take the blame for a lot of stuff, Strewth, but my Shadow makes me look fat?? Your Shadow suggests more time on the Boom boat to get things in order.

I will be there also next year, not going to miss all that fun.

My thanks also to Marlin Kachmar and Geoff House for all their help throughout the day. They were very patient and forgiving(I could have sworn I stayed within the borders). They worked very hard all day. And to Canuck for adding the scores for our group all day. Strewth, no kidding, it was a LONG day of shooting.
Awesome pix Canuck ! I think I'm hooked on this 3 gun thing. Already went and bought a new shotgun for the next one. I'll for sure be at this shoot again next year. I promise not to let my wife hold our tickets for the prizes LOL.

I'm disappointed to learn that Strewth is not, in fact, John Cleese.

So was my wife. And the RO. And the RO's wife...actually come to think about it pretty much everyone is disappointed I'm not John Cleese. But that's beside the point.

Oh, and to continue the self-deprecation, Where Canuck said I shot very accurately under the table with my pistol? We did the same COF with shotgun and slugs.....not so accurate:p. Eat hot sabot, no-shoot shotgun target!

Hey guys that was great stuff! Nine stages and 300 rounds would be a stretch for me but I'd be there trying. I enjoyed seeing the pics and putting a couple of faces on names.

Yeah, we are all shooting fanatics but the last couple of stages were a bit of an endurance run. At one point we really encouraged our main RO's to take a break. We could sit in the shade, such as there was, when not shooting but they were out there all day. Next year will be a bit different we are told with stages devoted to one firearm only. Ie., Stage 1 all handgun; Stage 2 all rifle; etc. Either way, we will be there!!
