Anyone out there know where you can get the mag extension tube for this shotgun? They are only imported into Canada with the 4+1.

Well first off I believe they're restricted to 4+1 because of british laws (so they make 'em to that standard) and i believe you can remove the interior plug and it'll hold 5. I could be wrong, but i believe there's some write ups on the internet about how to do this. The tube itself is long enough for 5 rounds. I believe it's part 403. I think some people use a bottle cap or an old follower to hold the spring in place once that's removed, but you pick up an extra bit of space.

BUT - to answer your question - hatsan sells one - http://www.hatsan.com.tr/en_escort_accessories.html You could contact them and ask if they'll ship or if there are already dealers in the americas

second - i believe the benelli nova extension works well for the escort semi auto - you'd have to plug it or something because that'd move you to 7+1. Hatsan is a benelli company in some way as i understand it. Is there a 1 shot nova extension? There's a small gap on the thread when it's installed, many people just put an o-ring there for asthetics.

these guys sell some after market escort products http://www.kingarmory.com/legacy_escort.html

Thank you Foxer. That helps a lot! None of the Canadian Hatsan dealers seem to carry it.

I'm here for you bro! :) I read a lot about this stuff as I was thinking about picking one up myself. I have a different model Turkish shotgun and it has the same 4+ one problem and with the plug gone it'll hold five

I just ordered mine today and should have it in my hands either tomorrow or Saturday. Delivered to my door. Checked it out at the Gun Show and it seems to be rock solid. Can't beat the 5 year warranty. Seems to be something with shotguns and Turkey. The barrel of my Winchester SXP Field is made in Istanbul.

Yeah, the turks for whatever reason have just got a thing for making decent shotguns at good prices. The hatsan is becoming well loved in the states too. ATI has even made a version of their scorpion stock for it.

Here's a little more info i dug up while looking into it:

Folks, I recently purchased an Escort MP-A and really like it. I saw some questions concerning where to get a magazine extension tube for the Escort since Hatsan does not offer one. I added a TacStar 7 Round Extension Tube made to fit the Benelli Nova/SuperNova. The threads are the same and once you scew it all the way down, there is only one thread exposed which I covered with a number 18 O-ring. This O-ring not only covers the remaining thread but allows the extension to screw on tightly and wont loosen up during shooting. Snug the O-ring down over the threads on the gun before screwing on the extension. You can also use the original spring that came with the gun or the one supplied by TacStar. I would think that any after-market mag extension tube made to fit the Benelli Nova would also work on the Escort, but I know the TacStar woks fine. I purchased the TacStar at Gander Mountain for $49.99 and picked up a 10 pack of O-rings by Danco at Home Depot for $2.35. Although there are similarities between the Escort and the Remingtom 870, the Remington Extension Tubes don't work on the Escort because the cap is too short to cover the cap threads on the gun.

Also - just a reminder in case you didn't know but the Escort apperently will "ghost" a round as well. That's a nice feature :)

Found one at SFRC for the Nova/Supernova. It has the sling plate, something none of the others seem to have. Pricey, but think I'll go with it. Better than ordering from the US. Unless Hatsan comes through for me first. 7+1 plus a ghosted round. Nice!

plus one in the chamber for a total of 9 rounds of shotty goodness :) nice indeed :)

But remember you'll have to plug it to 5 for the mag when you actually put it on. It's still a semi auto centerfire - no mags more than 5x3inch rounds (which is about 6 2.75 rounds if stacked right as i recall). Unless it's chambered for 3.5. Then you can have 5 rounds of 3.5 which i believe equals about 7 rounds of 2.75 if it's sized right.

I still think the mag extension makes it look totally badass tho :)

Oh it'll be legal. But it's all about the looks. Hatsan's Canadian distributor, Bell Outdoors won't supply based on the legalities.

Where this is a semi, you can only use the +1 .. the +2 puts you in the prohibited class so know your limitations.

Semi-auto have a different set of rules from manual shot guns .. buying a +2 and pluging it is not an answer for semi-autos either.

5.99 ( but not 6 ) rounds of the largest size the gun was designed for ... you can reduce hull size to 2" ( reloading used hulls with slugs ) and stuff the space or go with standard 2 3/4.

So much confusing info out there as the MPA is not the MP

This shotgun is a licenced copy of the Fabarm based on the H&k design . Parts are available in the UK all over the place and no US shipping restrictions. There us a UK gun shop selling replacement o-rings on eBay, some people post the rings for the Remington 1100 fit, but the rings Brownells sell for the 1100 are not the same thickness. ATI makes an after market stock .. fits perfectly ..

What people do is buy the extension purely for aesthetics, so that the mag tube is the same length as barrel. Then they fill the extention with epoxy to render it incapable of holding rounds. Sounds silly, but some do it.

No different than 'aesthetic only silencers' and such really. People like their guns to have a certain 'look'.

I meant that it may sound silly to some to purchase a perfectly good and working accessory for $100 like the mag extension, then ruin its function permanently by filling it with JB Weld.

True enough, although as far as 'silly' goes have you met our gun laws?
