View Full Version : Scope for a Stoeger springer air gun..what do you recommend?

Hi folks. I recently picked up a Stoeger x10 air gun and i'm looking to mount a scope on it. Rumour has it that scopes designed for shotgun/rifle recoil dont hold up well in high powered air guns. I guess the logic is the recoil on spring powered air gun moves forward rather then backward, and that rattles apart the inside of a standard scope.

My question is, does anyone have a good recommendation of some scopes i could consider to use on this air gun. I'm not necessarily looking for a top of the line as i want to keep the cost down, but at the same time, i dont want a crap scope that wont hold up.

The primary usage would be small game hunting and some plinking within 50 yards

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

I would start checking scope makers web sites, they will list which models can stand up to a springer air rifle. Can't recommend more than that as i haven't used a scope on a air rifle. I can't find the web sites right now but there are a couple that dealers that sell a lot of air rifles that would be another good source for info.

Thanks Road Kill. I did some looking around online and it seems like all the sites are from the US and many of the scopes dont seem to be readily available in Canada. Anyhow, i'll keep looking. Thanks bud

I have a Stoeger 4X32 on my QB57, springer. It's made expressly for spring powered airguns. It rocks, regular crosshairs + red or green dot when you want. Great little unit. From Cab__as.
