Yep i got the bite today when i was disassembling my Garand.

I guess I am part of the club!

For owners of a Garand it is not an "if"....it's a "when".

Cheers!

no collection is complete with out one. I have several and just acquired my nicest one to date, all correct and original 1944 Winchester. Sorry but I'm not in the thumb club, been close but haven't been bit hard yet. Knock knock

I have wanted one since before i got my PAL, but I just end up with other guns :P
I usually end up looking at the cost of running guns, and ammo aint that cheap for them :(

I have been seeing a lot of receivers for sale on some sites, is it a common thing for people to build their own?
That may be something I would be interested in doing, would be really cool to build one form the ground up, as long as it does not involve very specific and expensive tooling.

Hickok45 - another one of the coolest old guys around.

I swear... besides Obama, Hickock's got to be one of the best gun salesmen of our time.

I got a Garand thumb the first time I took it home and was playing around with it (dry firing, cycling the action, etc). You'll only get bit once...

First break down after just getting it for me.
Those unaware it will bite.

Oh great. Can't wait.

Just got mine fully working finally ( gas lock was jammed and assumed it was just a plug, learnt my folly ) now I'm working on handloads overtime.
