the clip/magazine one kinda bugs me. but i'd say a solid 80% of gun owners I know personally are ignorant to anything outside of the 1 or 2 guns they own so i try not to let it bother me.

A lot of the slang used like shotty or remmy gives me a headache and i try to ignore it, and yes listening to some of our neighbours to the south can be difficult. Watching the tv show about the Texas family of hog catchers gave me a lot of laughs, when the old guy spoke even most of the U.S. couldn`t understand him.

Definitely "shotty". I get a little disgruntled when I hear it. :p

I've heard "Leo-pold" many times. Doesn’t bother me - kind of find it humorous.

Boolits are what Marko Ramius warns Ryan to watch firing around the Red October's missles as they react badly.

Bullets is how it is spelled and should sound (BULL-ets).

Lu-pold

And even that is a bastardised anglicization.
It should be loy-pold, but that would anger people even more.

The whole clip/mag thing doesn't bother me however since even manufacturers still refer to them as either or.

Can't say that it bothers me, but it give me something to chuckle about. I was in a very reputable gun shop a couple of weekends ago and the shop owner kept pronouncing Brno as Bruno. :D

Would be cool to have a sticky with all of these, and how to pronounce them. Would make new people and some of us old folks feel more in the know.

Lee-per :)

Getting older has it's benefits...one of which is no longer getting bent out of shape about someone's pronunciation or mispronunciation of words and names. I'm happy if I can figure out what the heck they're talking about. LOL !

I don't remember many specifics in the book, but I do remember it helped me relieve a lot of stress in my life: "Don't Sweat The Small Stuff...And It's All Small Stuff"
Cheers.
