WHITEHORSE, Yukon - Prime Minister Stephen Harper's campaign-style speech to party faithful Thursday night left no doubt as to who he thinks is his biggest political threat.

Harper repeatedly attacked the Liberals and their leader, Justin Trudeau, whom he said would increase taxes and repeal all of the Conservatives' reforms if elected.

Harper mentioned the Liberals or Trudeau 11 times in the speech; the NDP got four mentions. NDP Leader Thomas Mulcair was not mentioned at all.

With the Yukon mountains as a backdrop, Harper boasted to Conservative Party supporters at a backyard BBQ about his government's record since 2006.

He mentioned the $30 billion the Parliamentary Budget Office said his government cut in taxes since 2005. Harper also said the Conservatives have "put victims first" with the government's so-called tough on crime agenda.

And what triggered the biggest applause of the evening was Harper's claim that since he came to power, Canada has had a "stronger position in the world.

"When we work with allies, and stand by friends, like the Kurds, or like Israel, against terrorists and extremists, like Hamas and ISIL, that is Canada at our very best," he said to strong cheers and applause.

Harper's speech was a strong indication of the themes on which his campaign will run during the 2015 federal election.

"So, my friends, we have delivered a growing economy, a safer country, and stronger position in the world," Harper said. "But, in somewhat more than a year from now, Canadians will pass judgment on that."

Harper flies to Fort Smith, Northwest Territories Friday morning, where he's expected to make an announcement on northern agriculture.

Take the support for Israel off that list and I'll be happy.

You'll never be happy with EVERYTHING that ANY gov't does - but you have to look at the overall performance.

There used to be a joke that the best gov'ts are the ones that leave everyone the least unhappy.
