View Full Version : griptonite stocks

I have a new remington with the griptonite panels on the stock.

Does anyone have any experience in painting these? Will paint even adhere to the griptonite? Does it stay put if it does stick? Can you maybe dye the griptonite?

I'm in the dark on this new fangled stuff... I just don't want to waste the Krylon if it isn't going to work.

Is that like grip tape? You see that on running boards and skateboards. Is that what "griptonite" is? If it is, then the paint will stick, but not for long. Grip tape is almost the same as sandpaper or emery cloth. The grit is glued to the surface of the paper. It doesn't take much to make it come off and look "worn".

Maybe it isn't like that ...?

The griptonite is a rubbery patch on the stock. I'm worried about too much flexing, if it even sticks in the first place.

Yeah, I would think the paint wouldn't be there for long.
