Interesting letter to the Edmonton Sun

GUN LAWS

Re. Lorne Gunter’s “Registry 2.0: Some provinces start tracking sale of guns” (May 6). Readers of Mr. Gunter’s column might reasonably be excused for concluding that somehow Alberta is involved in establishing some form of gun registry. However, this would be a very wrong conclusion. Current allegations about the activity of chief firearms officers in a number of provinces refer to federal, and not provincial, officials. CFOs are under the RCMP’s Canadian Firearms Program and are not affiliated with nor do they work on behalf of the Alberta government. Tax dollars can be used in ways other than a long-gun registry and the Alberta government will continue to oppose such a registry.

I chose to believe it, they know it would be instadeath to fundraising forever and ever. Guaranteed WR sweep in 4 years, people wouldn't forget.

Unless of course she is able to, "distance" herself from it in the eyes of the media. After all that strategy and people being too lazy to look is what got her elected IMO.
