Always wondered this: when inputting scope-height-above-bore into a ballistic program, I have always used: (half the diameter of the objective) + (half the diameter of the barrel) + the distance between the scope and barrel.

But with a sloped base, is this correct in theory?.....Should the measurement be at the end of the scope?.....or right at the objective lens?......or at the turrets?....or what?......

(Not that it matters much with my shooting......)

Seems there is not a true, 100% method. I tried this one (http://www.accurateshooter.com/optics/determining-scope-height-above-bore/), then used a caliper and my eye. Results were pretty close. I took measurements in middle of the scope, front and rear ring.

Middle of ejection port to middle of tube. Even being off by as much as a cm won't change anything
