I have been bit with the Garand bug and today this arrived . Another great looking stock from Dean's Gun Restoration. This will be #6 and it will be a more precise(re: pricey) build. I have a Criterion chrome lined barrel from Fulton Armory and one of many "spaghetti" Garand receivers to start with. Now to start finding all the little bits to make it ''ping''!http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q699/falover57/002_zps54c42830.jpg (http://s1354.photobucket.com/user/falover57/media/002_zps54c42830.jpg.html)http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q699/falover57/003_zps644f5b7e.jpg (http://s1354.photobucket.com/user/falover57/media/003_zps644f5b7e.jpg.html)

Oh that wood is just gorgeous!
This is getting to be an expensive habit you're forming, are we going to have to have an intervention??? :tounge:

Does the phrase "Get off my lawn!" ring a bell!;D.

Considering I purchased 1 solitary receiver to build over a longer period of time. With a little prodding from another Garand enthusiast I have built a few more. After every build it still gives me a tingle to hear that familiar "ping" as another one is reborn! Now if I could only get my hands on some of that Greek surplus ammo the Americans keep finding!

#6 is Alive! All the parts found their way to my door and ended up as this.http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q699/falover57/002_zpscrmjibsb.jpg (http://s1354.photobucket.com/user/falover57/media/002_zpscrmjibsb.jpg.html)

Now that this one is finished I have that Norinco 305 project to work on. Still will be on the hunt for parts to finish #'s 7,8,9 and 10! (maybe 11, I might have a receiver hiding here somewheres)

The Deans stocks are pricey but to date they are a true 'drop in' fit. The chrome lined Criterion barrel was a bit of a cheat with no reaming required. Headspaced perfect with a Breda bolt. As soon as the snow disappears I am heading out into the woods for the test firing. (can't afford to lose any brass!)
