View Full Version : Marlin 1895 CB, what's it worth

I bought it 2 years ago from an estate. It was shot at the factory and shot once by me. Still have the original box(-1) of 45/70 shells I bought to try it out. 300gr Winchester hollow point.
This is what it looks like. I bought it still in grease. I cleaned it up enough to shoot it and re oiled it and put it away.

This is the write up of it. http://www.marlinfirearms.com/Firearms/Cowboy/1895Cowboy.asp
Curious about what price I should put it for sale on the EE at. ps I gave the estate $800 + the shipping. Can't find another one for sale to compare it with.
What do you think it should sell for.

$800 is a fair price for it, that's what they were new.
My WSS catalogue from 2010 has it for $819.95

I found an ad for one in Kelowna...guy wants $1300 for it. I think that's a little over the top.

Turns out they are selling for 1100 - 1200 for the pre Remington ones. This is a pre Remington one. I like the gun, just to many I like more!!

I replied to this thread earlier but it must have got lost in the server shuffle...

I spent 2 years shopping for mine.
$750-$1100 is the range I have seen, depending on condition...mind you I haven't seen one in like new condition for sale before.
All 1895CB are JM afaik...the new production rifles still aren't available, even though they have always been listed on the Marlin web site.
Your greed will dictate the sale price :p
