View Full Version : Strange scraper tool?

This summer I worked with the Brits and traded a ranger blanket for a field jacket. Just recently I found this strange tool in one of the pockets. Looks like a scraper tool or general gun tool but I can't figure out what the drill bit would be used for....

Any ideas on what this is?

They knew a cork screw would be too obvious, but we'll be damned if we're going without our wine !!?? :)

In all honesty....Im just guessing here....its not likely used for drilling a hole as much as to clean out a specific size hole that they didnt mind getting scratched up and worn over time. Either that, or its there to be used as a lever to get a little more torque on the rest of the tool while turning something. Besides that, Ive got nothing.

This thing intrigued me...found an SA80 cleaning kit/case on ebay and snagged it up (includes this very tool). Probably will never see use but I like odd things like this...

The bit is listed as a gas tube reamer.

I do not want my gas tube reamed. Was bad enough getting scoped.
