When the deal with Northern Republic Magazines fell apart I bought some Elander 10 round mags and some GS Designs mag extensions as well as some magpuls off the EE . I used my refund money and it cost less than the 3 mags from NRM so I am happy :cool1:
I finally got all the parts today and put them together. The quality of the mags and mag extensions is really good .I used these mags in my rifle previously and they functioned fine . I painted the mag extensions gloss black and when installed the dimensions are pretty much the same as an original 5/20 mag .
They feel very secure when connected and I have read good reviews on them both.
The color in the pics looks like it doesn't match in some pics but gloss black works pretty good at matching up with the Elander mags.

Do those Elander mags fit and work in a Springfield M1A?

I found my answer. It's yes.

and they are a beautiful thing....

oddly enough, me nor my gun have been involved in crazed shooting rampages, even with 10 round bolt action magazines installed in the gun. What gives? My gubment said that would happen for sure....

Well I have decided I dont like these mag extensions...I had one fall apart just below where the base of the mag connects to the extension. And the other ones I bought are starting to as well. They cant take the pressure of loading it into the magwell front first and rocking them into position like a regular mag.

I cut down a norinco stock , added a rem 870 butt stock adapter and then the milspec buffer tube . Its an easy job really.

I cut down an aluminum block to fit inside the stock and epoxied it in place and that is how the butt stock adapter is attached to the stock.
You can get the adapter at SFRC in Ontario.
