Good day everyone

In the last couple of years through my involvement with CHAS I have been introduced to many new faces and one question that seems to always be asked is if there is a club that shoots long range at CHAS. So I useally end up saying we have a dedicated bunch that shoot long range in thier own groups .

So with me stepping down from chair with the three gun club and being nominated to be Vice President of the club, I decided that maybe with the additional time I have freed up that I should start organizing a long range club to get a like minded group together and learn from an assortment of guys .

So I have planned a coffee clutch for Wednesday night at tommies on 184 and 111ave in Edmonton. So if you would like to be involved with something like this come to the timmies for 7 pm and let's see what we can come up with .

Steve

Do you have to be a chas member?

Don't have to be a member but you would have to pay the guest fee of 20$

Every time we shoot it's 20$?

Yes, if you are not a CHAS member, the guest fee is $20/day for an Adult. Minors, must be accompanied by an adult member and shoot free. This covers insurance and range maintenance.

Cheers!

Even though I don't have anything considered to be Long-Range Precision, I think some of this might help me wring the most out of both my bolt guns, and maybe even my M14 past 250 yards :D

Yes, you did the math well. The idea of allowing guests is exactly that....occasional guests. Since our membership does not currently have a cap, if you are a local resident we would rather have you join, as a member. I also understand that many of the other local ranges do not allow guests at all.

Cheers!

This will be the start of the long range club season . I would like to run three classes on reloading starting with a basics courses and moving up the ladder to an advanced course suited to loading for long range shooting . So next Saturday at 10 am I have room for 6-8 people to attend a reloading basics session for the start of the long range club for CHAS. now this course will be to cover the basics and more or less just to show what equipment you will be looking at and how to get started . It will be held in my garage (yes it heated ).

Anyone interested please pm me so I know that you plan to attend . You will require a note book ,pen and a lawn chair . This will be free to everyone that attends .

I want to make sure that everyone is started in the proper direction with their loading before the season starts and can take advantage of this club and the knowledge that will be present at these shoots .

WTF!? Wed nights and Sat mornings are the only times of the week I can't shift around with some notice. Great idea to start off with, hope you get a packed garage.

You mean I gotta wake up early on a SATURDAY? IN WINTER? That's a complete contravention of hibernation!

Looks like I don't have anything else planned that day until about 530 pm. The only thing I'm lacking is a lawn chair. The ones rated for my big ass are a little too spendy for my budget :P

I did. And it was EASY, and they were all too happy to let me bill them the 4 hour minimum even though I was on site for just over an hour. Hell, I'm still getting paid as I type this. :D

Hope the reloading session was informative, and if anyone has any legible notes I could get a copy of to see if I'm doing it right, I'd be very happy.

I missed PIZZA? That would have been worth not going to work OT. :P

On a positive note, I did manage to grab some 168gr A-max pills for the .308, and another can of Varget. Now if I could find the rest of those large rifle primers I swore I had left over from the .22-250 days, I'd be off to the races.
