So in the very near future I will be picking up a norinco np22 (sig 226), and would like any insights you have on optics for it. I love mini rds style but am new to pistols and am not sure what's available for this pistol and where to find such sights.

Thanks in advance for the help and info.

I recently picked up a Redfield Accelerator reflex sight for my pistol nork 1911, they don't offer mounting kits at this time though. My solution after a little research was to use the mount for a vortex razor(available at Wholesle sports) which fit perfectly, I recommend bringing your slide with you to compare the dovetail as I've heard the NP-22 uses a different size dovetail than Sig. The 1911 std. mount fit mine except for milling a little of the flattop rib ahead of the rear sight to make a level spot for it. I was going to get one get one for my NP-22 also but holding off as it's my IDPA gun(no optics allowed) and the 1911 is my 3-gun, IPSC, CQB and Tactical shoot gun. I'm very happy with the sight and at half the price of the Leupold(recently acquired Redfield) Deltapoint it's very affordable to boot, target acquisition is quick seems to be accurate but thats more "the monkey on the trigger" than anything else. That concludes my two cents.

Where did you buy the redfield from? I'd like to check those out

I got it from Hi-cal(site sponsor) in Mission, check their link at top of webpage. I'm sure someone in that area has them if you want to see it in real life before spending money.

Remember when looking at micro red dots for pistols you want the largest MOA dot possible. A 6, 8, or 12 MOA dot will be easier to track.

For a sig you could also look at a frame mount. They're larger than the slide rides, but means less wear on the optic and again: easier to track when the dot's not slapping around with the slide movement.

Frame mount sounds like a good idea. Relatively cost effective I think too

I have a 2 moa dot on my FNX tac 45 it's great. No problem to pick up the dot. Looks and functions awesome. And is a great convo starter at the range.

Where did you pick it up?

Getting closer! I need to find somewhere to drill and tap my handgun frame! ATRS could do it, but I suspect they're neck deep in Modern Hunter and .50 projects right now

It happened, and I am happy. Drilled and tapped my receiver for the first time. Just cooked my kydex holster to fit the new beast:
