We handled one that was mounted on an AR pattern rifle and it felt nice. It does add some weight to the rear of the rifle, but it's a great concept and is very well made piece.

For us civilian Canadians the point would be just because it's cool... Especially if your range rules allow you to play with this kind of stuff...

For an operator it would be an excellent place to keep your BUG. When the rifle is slung properly and dropped in front of you the access to the pistol is very quick and natural.

If nothing else it could be a compact way to safely store your pistol and rifle together...
