I had heard something about this a few months ago and did not think much about it.

BUT..... After now seeing that there is a pretty serious "Inspection" bulletin on the SKS issued by them, this firearm seems to currently be under some heavy scrutiny.

Could this mean that a change in classification or outright Prohibiting of the SKS be on the horizon?

Here is a link from November 2014 about a full auto "slam fire" incident incident that first got the RCMP involved...

http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cfp-pcaf/bulletins/bus-ent/20141114-89-eng.htm

But, from that bulletin there is now also a link in it that will take you to a very detailed RCMP inspection protocol with photos that clearly defines what they have determined.

If I understand it correctly, it would appear that 1952 and later SKS's could be in the RCMP hitlist.

This sort of makes me feel that my recent purchase of a 1950 was a lucky choice for me, but I somehow get the feeling that the SKS's days in Canada could now be numbered??

Any thoughts?
