Woohoo! I've been waiting to hear about when this is happening again!

I'll be there!

Wait . . . do I need to find a quad for this? Or are the trails jeep-able (https://instagram.com/p/u1WBkeHAN3)?

Unfortunately we wont be able to make it this year. :( I'll likely be in school may/june and we're trying to buy a house this year. Finances will be super tight. Nevermind the fact I still havent built a precision rig or pulled a trigger since october...

Next year we'll plan for it. Last year was a hoot. :)

What do you mean? I spent $15.00 at the car wash when I got home to make mine a clean machine again.
It takes a truly talented driver to miss all the mud.

Still haven't figured out how to get that dang kid to lug my gear around for me but I guess I'll suck it up once more ;D We both had a great time last year and the plan for now is to bring our tent again (this time having done an equipment check to ensure the fly is there!).

I am still working on the campsite . This year is proving to be a challenge to arrange the camping in the same area as it was last year .

I only own one of his knives currently, but to a blade-fetishist like myself, his stuff is hard for my wallet to resist.
Great job guys, on the quality and amount of great donations, I know it is a lot of hard work to put together such an impressive array.

Im up to 5 of his blades. Its habit forming! My wife got me one for Christmas and I ended up ordering her a nice Damascus piece. A month later ordered up two more. Found a small one on the EE about a year ago that I used on my deer last season. Guy does great work and is fantastic to deal with. I was really pumped when he said he would make us one!

Ok everyone the campsite we are staying at is located at the Brazue Dam located south of Drayton Valley . I secured as many campsites as I could so these will be given out on a first come basis. I will be out there Wednesday night on so if you wanna show up a little early and shoot the shit feel free to come on down.

That could be fun....shooting shit, with Steve, as compared with shooting the shit with Steve. Question...can Steve actually hit jack shit? :evil1: I think I will be out early. Should be fun any way it works out.

5 stations with 5 rounds per station and 3 targets per station with the long range bonus shot (i think another 3 rounds) was last years and should be the same

Ok everyone so just to update the thread everything is just about wrapped up for the shoot . Just to let everyone know the campsites are first come first served , I want everyone to come find Shane or myself on Friday night as we will have a small orientation package as for the lay out for the shoot and a set of safety rules. Also so I can meet everyone and so you will be aware of who we are . Any questions please email me or PM me here .

Steve summit sets up a course with four stations, spa ning a few kilometers of some great scenery. Start at section 1, proceed tbrough the sections, after station 4, return and shoot station 1 a second time. Each station has three targets at various random distances from 60-500meters. You get five shots per station. Each target hit the rso lays a card on the table. After your five rounds you select a card and it is noted on you score sheet. Then off to the next station. After shooting station 1 for the second time, you get three shots to hit a target at 1200m, if you hit it, it counts as a joker. The top prizes are based on you poker hand, and the rest are random draws. Everyone literally goes home with something. Follow that up with an excellent pig roast dinner, great conversation and meeting and making new friends.

All you need is one hit per station which almost anyone can do, last year one fellow used a .17hmr, my wife used a t97 with iron sights etc. Hell of a lot of fun.

I feel like I should apologize here. Nathan asked me to make a knife for your event and I did not get it shipped out in time. I do have a knife on the way but it will not make it for your event (looks pretty humble compared to some of the prizes). Maybe it could be used as a booby prize to the shooter who takes the longest to finish or the last person to leave the camp site. Anyway sorry for any disappointment I have caused. Have a great time guys and gals.

Yup, real sorry we're gonna have to miss this one. Last year was a real hoot. Unfortunately my work and financial situation just won't let it happen for us this year. We've already talked about it though and we're gonna do everything we can to make it next year, even if that means I just use my hunting rifle. :)

Thanks a lot to Steve and all the volunteers and sponsors, in just your second year you've already made a hell of a great thing, and should be very proud of yourselves. :)
One other thing , I was truly impressed with the sportsmanship of the guys who won the big prizes , handing off their second prize to the kids was a huge show of class, really cool guys !!

I will definitely be back next year, with just a little less window breaking. And to all the people I had a chance to chat with, thank you for making this a memorable experience. I couldn't think of a better group of people to spend my weekend with.

The only problem with this shoot was how to improve for next year. Lol

Steve and crew have completely knocked it out of the park. Shout out to Edenchef and crew for the food, and Schecter81 for almost nothing except excuses about his rifle builders mistake.

Thanks for the compliments Canuck, but the real credit goes to the "Son's of Edenchef", they are the ones that did the "heavy lifting" on prepping all the food. I agree, the bar has been set very high for next year's event. How about we start with two free kegs of beer next year? :Beer time:

Thats it. I am very angry. cause i missed another one of these.

seriously tho, the best i have is a cz858 with iron sights. at those distances i would be getting the "learn to shoot" award. cause my targets would be totally untouched. any chance of having a shotgun part to this event for us poor people who cant afford optics and long range rifles?

This was the second year that we had four rifles using irons and they did very well , the course is laid out so that your able to get hits . You don't need glass to do the course , it will make it easier but definitely not required . Thank for putting up the pics Bear . Fred will be getting me the pics he has later this week and I will get some up .

I want to thank all the shooters that came out and put up horse flies that could carry trucks on their backs along with insane heat. A huge thanks goes out to the gents and ladies that helped me organize , man and tear down this shoot. It wouldn't have happened without you guys , my hat is off to you for the support .
Station 1/5. Shane
Station 2 Tracy , William
Station 3 Nate ,Bear and Jason
Station 4 Bill and Jason
Doug for hauling drinks around for everyone
Mitch for help tear down
Travis For help with set up
Cj for all the help before and after with prepping and organizing everything for the shoot and Kate for tolerating me keeping Cj away for as long as I did .
Patrick, Jonathan and Richard for preparing another great meal for the whole crowd

A special thanks goes to Shane and Nate for arranging a majority of the prize pool from all the dealers and vendors .

I want to also thank all the vendors that put up the prize pool for this shoot , we had a total of 18,900$ Sitting on the donation tables ( it took three of them in total). I will be starting a new thread with all the contact info for everyone that donated to this shoot , I ask that you check them out and support them with your purchasing dollars since they were all willing to donate and loose a little profit to ensure that we had a great amount of swag and gear for everyone .

Few people realize the amount of back ground work that goes in to an event that has close to 70 people with organizing and making sure things roll smoothly . The people that donated the time to this really stand out in my eyes and deserve a standing ovation for the dedication.

Already started planning next years shoot so stay tuned and start planning what rifle your gonna need and start working out a load for your favourite !

Look forward to the next one and a final thank you to everyone .

Steve

The only problem with this shoot was how to improve for next year. Lol

Steve and crew have completely knocked it out of the park. Shout out to Edenchef and crew for the food, and Schecter81 for almost nothing except excuses about his rifle builders mistake.

Bahah! You make me laugh! Jason got er all fixed up and 3 of us printed sub 4" groups at 1200m with that beast. First round hit at 1200m! I noticed you didnt come out on Sunday wussy pants. Thats ok, DMays fun shoot is coming up.

This is a 3-round group! Two in the top and one below. Verified by Curt!

It's set up so everyone can participate! You only need to hit one target/stage to get a card and every stage has a close (100yd) one. There was a girl this year that shot with a 22 and went home with $400 in prizes.

The girl in question with the 22 also hit a target at 250 yards

Shane & Duke (am I allowed to use real fake aliases here......or is it alii......?). Anyway, you guys make me giggle. Nice bromance ya got going on here. How long have you been a couple? I wanna see video of the slap fight at Dmay's shoot ;D

Despite your girly pissing matches, it was great to see you and all the others again this year. Hats off to all who put in the massive effort to put together & run this thing - it truly is THE event I look forward to. I won't be taking "but I want to go camping with my mom" for an excuse from Vicki next year. What says family unity for a 14 year old girl more than a long road trip and shooting with a bunch of smelly dudes? I mean, COME ON!

Steve; your dedication does not go unnoticed or unappreciated. We need more of you around.
Shane; you're alright too, buddy :tounge: I expect some reciprocation for the man-hug next time. It WAS a MAN-hug (don't get all insecure on me). And where's the pic of my group, ya big turd blossom? You know - the one that makes you regret selling YOUR .284? BOOYAH! :owned:
Bear; Jeebus you're a big mutt! Greatest hangover breakfast cook around!
Nate, Tracy, Bill, Jay, CJ, and a few others who have escaped this awful sieve of a mind; thanks for everything you've done for this event again!

Also to all the great sponsors, thanks for your support. All of your contributions make this event unlike any other in Western Canada.

And lest we forget the significant others and the kids. Without their support and selective hearing, a great many of us would not be participating!

Take care all and I look forward to doing it again in a year's time.
