Geoff Rees from the Calgary Shooting Centre (https://www.theshootingcentre.com) joins us this week to verify for us that in fact no communists shop at his store. We also talk a little bit about the NFA situation to try and keep you all up to speed on what's going on there.

I'll be traveling out to Calgary in March for a family thing and a visit to the CSC is definitely on my agenda. I hope my Visa card survives.

And your advice re bringing magazines out of the US is flawed. Doing so is illegal without the proper US permits which a Canadian cannot practically (if at all) obtain. In short no one can bring any practical firearm part or magazine out of the US without the licensing and permits. Canada doesn't care as long as it is legal here. The US cares big time because of their ITAR rules on exports.

I have not checked but I'd be very surprised if a WW2 rifle mag from a UK rifle was ITAR controlled.

I understand you're not a hard hitting exposť news program, but I think you let the NFA get off too easily.

Trevor was right to present the facts as we know them, that part was good.

But this subject deserves to be followed further in the "now what?" direction. Not speculating, but you could have gone deeper.

Hundreds of posts and counting on the NFA/Bevins thread on this forum should show that people care more than "All we know is that there has been some disagreement".

I get it, you end every show with "Support the NFA and CSSA because we're super in love with them and they can do no wrong, so we may be a bit biased and we want to have their babies", but really? Even after this?

As far as I know, US ITAR treats every firearm and firearm part the same.

Did we say that he'd have no problem bringing them into Canada? I thought we said that he'd have no trouble finding one in Canada and not to bother with getting one in the states. Maybe I missed something...?
