I recently purchased a aimpoint m4 red dot sight. I mounted it and took it to the range. When I got the target set up at 100yrds I tried to set the sight but found I could hardly see the dot. I went through all the levels of intensity and found I had started on high. I changed out the battery but had no change on intensity. This was at 11:00am. I doubt that the time of day would affect it. I contacted aimpoint and the seller but haven't heard back from either as of yet. Any ideas on what I should do to improve the sight? It came with a black screen but as this is my first red dot and I'm not entirely sure of its function. Any ideas?

Take a photo of it on max intensity, post it here.

Indoors, on brightness 11, it should 'flare' out most of your sight picture.

Something's not right, I always set mine around 5 or 6, rain or shine.

It was a gift from a buddy. I asked and he says he bought it from a legit dealer online in canada. I get home in a week or so and will update this post and include a photo

I had a comp m4s and I ran it only one or two clicks into the daylight setting. Full brightness was too much in the pounding sun.

A real aimpoint woulkd be $1k and it not working would be a big deal. A fake aimpoint is $50 and your best bet would be to throw it in the trash.(sorry, but knockoffs are cheap for a reason)

when mine is on the highest setting it washes the inside enough that you can see the glow from the objective side and I can see at least two of the levels on the NVG side (using a child eyeclops NVG and unable with unaided eye).

My god I hate when people bump a 4yr old post and I don't notice.
