Daniel Balofsky and Kent Nicolson join us to talk about the "Keep Calm and Make it Reign (http://www.gofundme.com/reigninitiative)" initiative. Basically, they're planning on building and opening the biggest gun range in North America - in Toronto of all places! (well, just north of Toronto actually)

For clarification, a C7 and C8 are both Army rifles.

A C7 is the longer one and general purpose service rifle that Americans would call an M16. The first gen was all black with the full stock and carrying handle, and it has subsequently been updated with a sight, and eventually green collapsing furniture with some rails.

A C8 is the shorter one that Americans would call an M4. It's typically used by vehicle crews like tankers or truck drivers where it takes up less space and their primary function isn't shooting a rifle. Just as in the US, there has been a recent shift where regular infantry soldiers want to use a C8 variant instead of a C7, because of the LCF (Look Cool Factor), but it is a very stupid decision to give up capability for looks, ie significant drop in muzzle velocity and giving up range on purpose.

It is this rifle that has been modified in semi-auto-only for police use (both the Army C7 and C8 have auto capability, we don't use three round burst).
