So I'm looking into getting a shot timer for my range days to help me keep track of performance and all. I'm just curious what all of you use for timers and do you have any preferences or reviews on any of them out there.

I kind of had my sights on the shotmaxx wristwatch timer. From the reviews I read it seems pretty great. Shipped for about $170

I just bought one.

It's clunky and a bit uncomfortable as EDC - especially working on a computer, but the accelerometer feature is REALLY nice when shooting indoors with other people around you.

That one is ok - but it drains your battery really fast and picks up a lot of echo if not calibrated right.

I use an "R U Ready" timer. They are made locally here in Kingston, from a member of our gun club. His name is Jack Payne. http://www.ruready.com/
He ships them all over the world. And they use them quite heavily in IPSC. They are constantly being upgraded to do new things.
Check them out, he's a Canadian, local, and an avid shooter...

Ditto on the R U Ready. It's what our club uses for IPSC and IDPA. I have my own for practice.

Shotmaxx is excellent. I have 90% of a video review for my youtube channel done. I have both versions for review, they're different only by the LCD. One is a normal "white" face, better for indoor viewing, and the other is a "dark" face, supposed to be better for outdoor use (less glare). I did take both outside in direct sunlight, and I found the white face was fine for outdoor use as well, but the dark face I found was harder to read indoors. So I guess what I'm saying is the white face is good for indoor and outdoors.

I'll try to get the video done in the next week and post it.

I saw that site. I was still debating if I wanted to try them or not. Glad to hear they're legit. Now if only pay day would come sooner.

They are definitely legit, that's where I ordered both my Shotmaxx timers. The owner Phil is a great guy to deal with.

The site showing up at that link is showing prices in Euros, ( € ). CAD pricing works out to about $176CAD + tax and shipping.

So, I actually asked them what currency it was. According to them it displays based on your IP address. Since my IP originates from Canada it shows USD. Confusing as heck, they should just list it beside the price but *shrugs*. Makes Fast toys the better deal. Thanks guys!

I have been looking for one. Seems to be the standard for IDPA & IPSC....and if itīs made in Canada then Iīm sold!

The watch style is cool, great for solo practice. But itīs not great for multiple shooters.

Fast Toys is most definitely legit and Phil is one of the Top Open IPSC shooters here in Manitoba. Here is his youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/user/fasttoys2 I've just started using my Shotmaxx and really like it.
