So I am keenly interest in Ruger new American Ranch bolt action rifle in 300 Blackout, does anybody know who has them? http://www.ruger.com/products/americanRifleRanch/models.html

Actually - i'd be rather interested in hearing about that too. That has some interesting applications for me.

Yuck.:tounge: Might as well have a 7.62 x 39 bolt, at least you could access cheap ammo?
So tell me why I would want a rifle in this chambering?- Just curious as I have heard others liking this round as well,so I am guessing I am wrong and this might be a great option.
Dominion Outdoors did have them for $559 I believe. Epps had them too at one point I think.

The 300 Blackout if far better than the 7.62x39 from this reloaders experience because .308 offers better projectile selection than 7.62mm. As a good Scott, the 300 Blackout will also use less powder to obtain the same velocities as the 7.62x39. If I decide to build a upper for an AR at a later date, it's only a barrel change to the .223/5.56 while I would have to get a bolt for 7.62x39 and a barrel and... (there is that Scott thing again)

Ah, Ok if you are reloading it is more flexible, and doe not have the issues of the AK round in the AR -But why not just go to 308 for the bolt gun or you already have the 300 blackout AR?

Recoil, amount of powder and oh, have to change the bolt if I build a 308 upper and.... IF, we are ever allowed suppressors the 300 blackout will handle sub-sonic better. Just looking for a less than 300 meter round that is versitile, accurate and the 300 is just filling the niche I am looking for.
