Based on my experience with Mueller and Phil at Whitefalls I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. Admittedly my experience with the SKS is limited but I submit for your consideration:

That MX1 reddot(prairie dogs post) has been discontinued, that's what whitefalls told me. They sold me their last one in cammo for cheap. I have one on a shorty stevens .22mag does a good job.

x2 on whitefalls. But I'd probably rather see a burris fastfire on a rear sight mount for an SKS.

My brother-in-law runs a $50 bushnell from crappy tire on his. I have the same set up on my SR-22.

In both applications, the RDS has ran without any issues.

Is it a bushnell or tasco?

The one I am thinking is a tasco, but I had it on my CZ 858 with a scout rail, and it went through 2 crates of ammo with no problems before I upgraded to a Bushnell TRS.

The best thing about it, is as long as it doesn't look abused, is that Cambodian Tire will replace it if it fails, and you make a big deal about it.

Another vote for the TRS-25 that stood up to my shotgun for a while, before going back on my grouse gettin' 10-22 here on the Wet Coast...but I do like Mueller...

Totaly agree. Got my TRS-25 for under $90 USD shipped to me although I did have to modify the op-rod release tab in order for it to work. But then again nothing in my point of view beats a relfex sight. Dollar for Dollar Burris Fast Fire is the best deal in this market. All be it the first version and the mount will easly equal the cost of this rifle but actalully this rifle is much more expensive every were else in the world. So I guess it all boils down to...
Is this rifle going to be in your locker for a long time?
Can you use this optic for another application later if you get rid of the rifle?
No for the NC Star stuff. Unless you are dealing with John @ Marstar I wouldn't do it cause they break down after a while although there are some brand name reliable red dot's on the market now day's that are not airsoft and do tend to last.

I've had this same battle in my head several times....but optics and mounts tend to hold their value and can easily be resold. Lots of guys looking for the sparc, so you wouldn't have trouble selling it if you didn't like it,.

I'm thinking of going with the SPARC on my SKS as well, and eventually mounting it on a CZ 858.

I don't think you can go wrong with the spark it comes with risers that will just about accommodate any situation with regards to mounting it
