It's garage sale season and there's some great deals to be found... anyone else go "sailing" and find anything good?

Circular Saw - $5
Jerry Cans - $0.10
Gold Jewellery about $20 worth - $0.25
Silver and gold plated spoons (took a chance on these) - $0.10
Padded nylon laptop containers with lock rings (perfect for transporting handguns) - $0.50

This past weekend:

Folding Camp cot - $5
Coleman stove - $2

Also took the gold jewellery I bought a few weeks ago to my in laws who are jewellers to have it appraised... turns out it was actually worth $200 instead of $20 (that's what they bought it off us for).

That was a nice surprise.

I stopped at a garage sale last Friday and scored a big box full of cast iron cookware for six bucks.

I think the trick is to look for family, community, or church garage sales.

In the past few weeks, we've probably gone to about 20 or so through community ones. Just drive up to a neighbourhood and walk along to 5-6 garages.

Church ones often have LOTS of really good stuff for a lot cheaper than even normal garage sales.
