I have experienced the "Gremlin" a couple of times. However, this time I have taken off the pistol grip and am trying to release the sear to drop the firing pin. I have been pulling the sear spring (depressing it) and it is not releasing. So I am somewhat stuck as I cannot strip the rifle. Any suggestions? Do I need to be further forward and engage the sear itself and not the sear spring?

Is there any smiths that are working on these that can get the problem fixed once and for all?

Thanks,

Mike

yes pulling the spring itself does not disengage the sear. if you pulled back on the charging handle while pulling down the sear spring that might do it.

Hi Mike as I promised you please read this in the stickey;
How to remove the top cover when it is jammed shut.
Link is here;
http://www.gunownersofcanada.ca/showthread.php?3073-How-to-for-the-CZ-858-VZ-58
When you scroll half way down you will see how to do this proceedure. If you still run into further issue's please contact me or if you want to send it in to a gun smith that knows alot about this rifle I reccomend Dlask Arms Corp. He has built alot of tricked out 858 for me.
