My 8th shoot out to a Mile.

Location Near Peace River AB.
Scheduled for Sept 22. Set up friday afternoon 21st, shoot all day Sat the 22, sit around a camp fire sat night(awesome camaraderie), head home the 23rd.
Limited to 30 people.
I'm setting up a camp site, hay field, but it has no services. I'll set up an outhouse and a fire ring. Sorry but no dogs.

The roster is full and then some. Shooters and spectators must be 16 years of age or older.

This time around there is an added bonus. Sponsors have come aboard with some interesting prizes, bullets to barbecues(details august).

My Range Rules
Safe gun handling.
Muzzle points to the sky or the ground, no sweeping other shooters.
Bolt open or out from case to shooting line and from shooting line to case.
Bolt open when gun is not attended on shooting line.
No gun fondling while people down range.
Buddy system of chamber check(if possible) before moving from shooting line.
No restricteds.
You must belong to a gun club, or be an NFA member with liability insurance.
And I'm kinda a safety nut, so everyone goes home in one piece.
Oh and the guns go away when the alcohol comes out to play.
Swearing!! Talk like your MOM’s standing beside you. It makes me happy.

Do we have a target for Buffler rifles?

How big ya want it? Last year it was a 45/70 only 4'X4' plate out at 500 yards. Problem is it has no tree's behind it. For the hail mary shots.

Its getting exciting. The shooting line needs the 4 foot high trees cut(done), weeds knocked down(done), conola combined!! Haven't been to the 1 mile target spot, but I suspect it will need the same treatment(Yup & done).
2 inches of rain fell today so the machinery sits till it dries up some. Going to check out a couple of alternate spots if the crop doesn't get harvested off this spot.
Almost 40 targets to choose from. Don't know if I have enough stands for all 40 but we will see.

Yes very nice shooting on the buffalo ? I might have to get a smoke pole like that and try it out . There is no wondering where the shots went now lol

This is the next challenge Steve.
UPDATE
Buffalo at 1000 yards(might be 800 depending on elevation settings.) Lots of spots to set this up anytime.
The firearm has to be 18th century or a replica of an 18th century gun. Iron sites. Black powder(smokeless too because I don't have all the drop tube equipment and such). 500 grain lead pill or heavier(no jacketed). 45/70 cal. Let the wailing begin.
Mine will be a replica of the Marlin 1895 Cowboy. Now to find sites again.
The H&R Bufffalo Classic is a 1871 repro too!! More sites to find.
Now I have to learn a new shooting discipline.
I'll start the search for steel to make 4 buffalo's. I see another shoot coming on.
Here's a thought.
A item goes on the table we all launch 5 - 10 pills out at the target, the best/most hits wins. Come back another item goes on the table, launch 5/10 again, repeat.

Its on its way dancing banana, dancing banana. This comes from looking at Darrells for 6 years and wanting one like it.
Note "must buy 1/4 section, flat, crown land behind backstop at 1000 yards. Scrounged 2 more plates for 2 more full sized buffalo. That makes 4 buffalo for targets.
Just don't know where I,m going to be hanging my hat. The betterhalf was looking at a half section the other day!! Hmmm
