I have finally bought a NP22. I have been shooting a norc 1911 and S&W M&P 9 for the last few years.

Does anyone know who in Canada sells spring kits for a 226. I have read that the trigger is quite a hooker on the heavy side.

Where did you find the Grips? I have searched everywhere and cannot find Pachmayr 226 grips.

I recently purchased a NP, and was pleasently surprised with the quality. One problem however for me, is that the sights appear to be off, is there any way to adjust?

Here is the wife's:

When she first got it, she couldn't even operate it in DA. I ended up cutting a CZ75 spring for a much better pull.

I have the same problem as well. I've tried everything. Brass punch, sight pusher and no joy. I was thinking maybe a butane torch and more raw whacking power is the next step??

Make sure you are on the rear sight! -I had been trying to drift the front :o

I've tried the freezer. I've also tried the freezer and then applying heat and it still wouldn't budge. I've also tried moving both the front and rear. I'm sort of out of ideas at this point.

Huh. They're not pinned, are they?...No, Google says not...have you tried soaking it in penetrating oil (Liquid Wrench)?

It's a sight adjustment tool for Sig P226. It will work.

Need to adjust my sights as well. I see the last post was over a year ago. Anyone have any success in moving the rear or even the front sight? the sight pusher for the sig does it actually work? and if so how much and from where?

I've put around 600 rounds through mine without an issue. Shoots a touch low but overall I am happy with it, also have the NP29 and am happy with quality and operation on it also. On a side note does anyone know the dovetail specs that norinco uses on these guns?

When I had the NP22 I found my MGW Sig sight pusher only worked on the rear sight. The front wouldn't budge. As I was putting in Trijicon sights I eventually just pounded out the front (it broke). One thing to note is that the dovetailing isn't the same as Sig's. It is larger (at least on mine it was) therefore I had to JBWeld the new sights in.

They are set a little tight....it's a punch or a sight tool...great pistol though....

That is the biggest disadvantage of the NP22. The sights are actually larger than any other sight on the market that anyone has found. I don't know why this is, maybe something to do with Norinco being able to say it's not a 100% copy of a Sig? :D

So has anyone been able to get there sights to move? I don't want to screw mine up with a punch if its not going to work.

You can do that trick easy with some model paint of your choice, a q-tip and a cloth with some cleaner on it :)

I've done it on lots of guns.

Check ebay for sight pushers. The O frame one's are quite affordable and work well as long as you're careful.

I bought one on Amazon. Had to use myusaddress.com to get it delivered though. Wouldn't ship to Canada. :mad1:

JB will eventually come loos.
I used thin shims with some green goo and a heat gun.

agreed. I'd lean towards using lock tight as an option.
back to the sight pusher I finally got to use my new Sight Master. worked like a charm, but the dovetails on the Norincos take the prize for tight fit. I'm using a 19mm socket to try to move the press that pushes the sight. it took some torque but I finally got it to move after it made a loud crack sound. To the eye it appears to be lined up pretty good but will have to get out with it to find out.
