Looking for what i need to mount a scope

Scope - small Bushnell banner that could go as low as i can put it can just rest on the top of my rifle without any tipping. (might want to upgrade in the future)

i bought some scope rings for a 3/8 grooved receiver still in package but i do believe that the 3/8's is a bit small for this rifle but need help in locating some rings for my size groove.

kind of on a budget even tho i am open to suggestions.

Thanks in advance for reading and any help you can supply.

Well...measure the largest diameter of the scope. Now divide by 2. That's your center, to outside (or bottom if you prefer) measurement. Then go to the store with a pair of calipers, and measure from the bottom of the ring to the center. If it's less than your scope center to bottom...it won't work. I'm assuming this is on a 22, but I we don't know what kind. If there's some other obstruction on the gun...say an exposed hammer tang or something like that, then you'll have to account for that. If all else fails, put the gun in a case, and take it with you to what ever store you're planning on buying the rings from. if you're shopping online, you're going to have to figure out how much additional room you're going to need to raise it up to accommodate for the obstruction...then add that to your center to outside measurement, and start looking for the specs on different rings.

Its a .308 win. and what im looking for is the size of the grooved reciever on the rifle so i can match proper grooved mounts. i will take some pictures this evening and post them.
thanks for your advice well taken.

They are an odd-ball( to us) size .......19mm or something if memory serves. Been many years since I got for mine, and memory leaks a little these days.
But I believe Millet makes some that fit (Angle-Loc).....find a reference at Brownells.
Haven't been in contact with them for some time, but London Arms in Toronto used to be the go-to BRNO people. 416-675-1322
