After many hours of design changes and hand filing the Chickopee kits are finally signed off and the parts are on order! Now you can be the first in your club to show off a fine looking rifle you built yourself!

The classic single shot revived. This kit contains all the laser cut parts needed to build Frank DeHaas's Chickopee CF rifle as detailed in his book Mr. Single Shot. It is a simplistic little gun designed to be built from flat stock by the average tinkerer in a home shop with minimal tools. It features 1018 steel construction and laser cut parts with upgraded 0.25" thick sideplates instead of the thinner 3/16 plates called for in the plans. The barrel block included will fit a standard 0.925 Ruger 10/22 barrel or can be threaded to fit most other barrels of suitable caliber. It can be made in rimfire or centrefire based on firing pin placement. Instructions are included in Frank DeHaas's book, Mr. Single Shot, some dimensions differ from mr DeHaas's book but all the parts will fit proportionately
Kit includes:
2x reciever sides
2x breech blocks
2xsupport shoulders
1x trigger
1x hammer
1x release lever
1x hammer block
1x spring block
1x firing pin block
1x breech face
1x extractor blank
1x trigger guard
1x barrel block
1x hinge pin
assorted pins

Awesome, you got to weld these right?

They can be mig or stick welded together, the original plans called for hard solder but Im not sure I would trust that

I might be in deep doodoo if a mig welder shows up in the garage. This might be an ideal new years project.

If she asks just say you're 'borrowing' it from me indefinitely

Do you have any pictures of a finished product?

Also, does this kit come with instructions, or do we have to buy the book you mention? And do you sell the book?
It looks like a cool project that I'd be interested in, but your website doesn't have much information on it. (And I'm a curious guy)

Anyone order one during the sale?
Did it come with instructions?

I'm not a member on weapons guild.
I kind of figured I'd get an answer on here within a month.

If I remember correctly there was a write up on a rifle build on Frank DeHass's design in The Home Shop Machinist. Not sure if it was Frank or somebody else did a build. It would likely take me a year of digging through my stuff to find it though. I used to get the magazine as well as some others, you could go to THMS web site and maybe find some info, not sure if you can look at past issues. I'm intrigued but I have way to many projects to get done before the end comes. :eek1:
