Work has confirmed our time off and I just registered us. :)

Steve, FYI we're with CCFR. I've never received a membership card from them and just upgraded to a family membership to cover Snipezilla. In the Poker Rally Access form, I uploaded a .doc file with the purchase confirmation of our family membership. Let me know if that doesn't work and you need something else.

Steve, it looks like I probably won't be able to make it this year. Because of my health issues, the doctors may not allow me to make it. I hope not, but I have to listen to them this time. I hope by the first week of May to know for sure.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. At this time it doesn't look good. I suppose I'll know better in June, but by that time I won't be able to get organized enough to get the trailer and vehicle borrowed. I will probably pass this year. My health is just a wee bit more important. (As the boss Wifey keeps telling me.) But Darrel, you won't be able to keep me from your shoot!

stevesummit

Prices are listed on the website, you must bring your own firearm or share with another member that has a valid PAL and you both must have proper insurance

We had these made up for the shoot.

What do you guys think?

the 1200 meter shooters that hit the mark get one of these.

Were you at the first ever Poker Rally? I was. I seem to remember that I was one of only 2 or 3 guys to get a first shot hit on target from 1200m.

We'll ignore the fact I was shooting a PGW Coyote with Nightforce optics, handloads and excellent dope provided by Duke. Thanks again Duke!

Well folks we're a couple weeks away from the shoot and just wanted to remind everyone that now is the time to make sure your dope cards are updated and you have a confirmed zero . There will be no test shots allowed . Myself and CJ have been busy getting the benches and targets together . Now it's just oil changes on the quads and paint the steel and of course not running over a bear on the road to the campsite this year !

I'll forward to seeing everyone again and don't be shy come say hello when you see me scurrying around the campsite or at the shoot . I will be floating around this year helping the RSO's where needed and making sure they have food and drink so they don't get bitchy !

Keep your heads up folks. It was reported on June 29 that a couple was the victim of an attempted armed robbery at the Brazeau campground. In the early morning hours of June 29, a truck pulled into the campground and three men attempted to rob a couple at gun point. The two males that exited the truck attempted to hook up a trailer containing two quads. The third suspect remained in the get away truck while they first two attempted to hook up the trailer. When the two could not successfully get the trailer hooked up, the three suspects fled the scene. These same three are suspected of another armed robbery in Nordeg earlier the same day.

The RCMP are cautioning anyone using the campground or the area to be aware and to not approach these men as they are considered armed and dangerous.

I think somebody needs to put their money where their mouth is. :) Got $20 you can afford to lose ?

Heres what I was thinking. We do a total yards shot contest. If you hit a gong at 100 yards, 250 yards, and 350 yards, you get 700 yards on your score card. You miss a gong, you dont get the yards for it. I think there are enough laser range finders around that we can get exact readings that we can agree on. We can total up the yards shot at the end of the day and high score takes the pot. We'll exclude the long shot, since that can make or break what would otherwise be a good day of shooting....just count the regular station targets. You in ? I know rottweilerboy and oddjob will be up for it, as will I.

So your inspiration is a bunch of Hollywood actors who couldnt hit shit in their movies let alone real life?
Or are you drawing inspiration from the firearms in the movies?(firing blanks)
I'll give you the Duke of course, but i doubt he can overcome the others. I mean geez, considering the shoot, Quigley would be more appropriate :)

We'll probably be pulling into camp around 7 tonight. Snipezilla has to work until 2, so I'm spending the morning getting everything ready to go.

I have a flat of bottled water and a flat of Gatorade in case anyone forgets to bring fluids and needs a drink while on the course. Don't forget your sunscreen and bug spray as well! The last shoots we've been there had bugs like crazy.

I've also done a check on my large first aid pack. I'm an EMR so unless we have some EMTs or paramedics attending, I can volunteer to be the first aid guy again this year.

Just on a personal note, i want to thank everyone who donated, and volunteered for the poker rally, and also thanks to the various competitors we drafted as helpers from time to time.

A big thanks to jwire, for the maps, challenge coins, patches, paperwork etc, sorry we missed you bud.

Another huge shoutout to the various sponsors here who donated, and also those such as Dmay who donated. Sorry i keep missing your shoot, hopefully next year.

And finally, a huge thanks to Steve and Shane. I have known Steve for just over four years now, and i know first hand the long nights, early mornings, high stress, expense, time away from family, and effort he has dedicated to putting this together. Shane came in 3 years ago, and has also dedicated a lot of time and effort, late nights and such to it as well. Out of this event has grown a lot of connections between different shooting styles, sugh as long range, prs, 3 gun etc, introduced a lot of people to different styles, allowed a place where pushing your own boundaries is more the point than prizes (altho those are great as well), numerous friendships, and a hell of a lot of fun. I could ramble on for another 26 paragraphs and still not express my gratitude, so I'll just say...

THANK YOU!!!!!
