Here is some ideas for transitioning from rifle to pistol. When doing so you must consider engagement distance and time available.

Are you in Ontario or Victoria? That's clearly Victoria Fish and Game in the video.

If a threat is within pistol range, it's within hand grenade range too.

Transitioning from rifle to pistol is only necessary if and when you made the serious tactical error of running out of rifle ammo. Hand guns are status symbols and for last ditch self-defence. And, of course, none if it applies in Canada.
Hand grenade range is farther away than pistol range. Lethal radius for currently issued hand grenades(M67) is about 15 meters. Most male troopies can throw one 30 to 40 meters. The frag can travel about 230 meters. Anyway grenades are for breaking things you cannot with rifle fire.

LOL... You've obviously never trained in any real capacity for modern CQB.

You've never had a bad mag? I had one mag cause 6 double feeds on the range last week. Military mags, military carbine.

In an active engagement, the first thing you do in that situation is sling your rifle and transition to pistol. You can de-fu*k your long gun in a lull later, behind cover.

As for grenades, they're great for one thing: hitting targets behind cover or in buildings that you're not in.
