So here is my BlackFeather build in progress, finally got around to modifying the tri-rail to fit around the BF's Op-Rod guide....all that's left is to install my CASM mount whenever it arrives and scope it. Really eager to see if there is any improvement to how she shoots. One thing I must admit is that the balance of the rifle in the stock is really nice.

any detailed pics or descriptions of how you modified the railed hand guard?

I like the dual purpose bipod - vertical fore grip at the back.
What brand of bipod - VFG is that?

Hey...basically the modification involves removing an aluminum buttress that the UTG rail has. Normally it sits right on top of the OpRod guide but since the BlackFeather has a proprietary OpRod guide that is much thicker, it prevents the tri-rail handguard from sitting properly. I used my Dremeled and an aluminum oxide grinding stone to remove the aluminum that was in the way. Took a lot of patience but the fit is perfect and rock solid!

As for the vfg...its the T-Pod G2 made by Fab Defense. Its pretty awesome...single hand operation, it swivels and cants and its rated to hold up to 200lbs! Also weighs in at under 11oz...less than most bipods alone.

thanks for the quick reply..
That UTG rail sure looks good on top of the Blackfeather stock. I tried the UTG rail before and liked it, but I replaced all the soft Chinese hex socket head screws with better quality ones. With decent quality screws, the UTG rail worked fine for me as a Scout mount with a red dot. But eventually I went back to a conventional over-the-receiver scope mount and a scope.

I think I'll hunt down a FAB bipod like yours to try on a few of my Tactical rigs. If you are going with a VFG, you might as well get the two-for-one package that includes a bipod.

The Buttstock is also made by FAB Defense. The model is the GL Shock...here is a video of it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UOqutsTn5U

I really like the FAB defense products...alot of their stuff is actually battle-tested by the Israeli military. You can buy them at Wolverine supplies or order directly from Israel at Zahal.org. They actually ship for free and have never paid customs or Duty. Hope that helps.
