Hello everyone, I just purchased a German Mauser 98 and was wondering if anyone could help me place a date and a current market value for this piece. Ive tried researching Mauser serial no's and codes but have had no luck on identifying this one. The serial no 2363 match both the bolt and barrel/reciever, it has two German eagles over swastikas stamped on the barrel, 6 other style eagles stamped on it two above the number "359" and two over the number "37". It also has what looks like a cursive letter "U" stamped on it in two places. The action seems solid even dry as it is. Its in overall great shape other than having a sporterized stock added after the war. Attached are pictures, if you have any further questions please let me know. Thanks in advance !!!http://s350.photobucket.com/user/Jeff134232/media/image10_zpsa7ynv4jj.jpg.html?sort=3&o=1http://s350.photobucket.com/user/Jeff134232/media/image2_zpsanzewryd.jpg.html?sort=3&o=1http://s350.photobucket.com/user/Jeff134232/media/image5_zpsuzydyzjo.jpg.html?sort=3&o=8http://s350.photobucket.com/user/Jeff134232/media/image7_zpspop7wt6o.jpg.html?sort=3&o=6http://s350.photobucket.com/user/Jeff134232/media/image6_zpswrpvhrqm.jpg.html?sort=3&o=5http://s350.photobucket.com/user/Jeff134232/media/image13_zps1msay7sm.jpg.html?sort=3&o=10http://s350.photobucket.com/user/Jeff134232/media/image9_zps24t0scqw.jpg.html?sort=3&o=2http://s350.photobucket.com/user/Jeff134232/media/image12_zps39dpnnq7.jpg.html?sort=3&o=9http://s350.photobucket.com/user/Jeff134232/media/image8_zpsphhre7pn.jpg.html?sort=3&o=4

What is stamped on the top of the receiver? That usually gives you the manufacturer's code and year. I've got my reference book handy, so let me know what's there I can get you an answer!

Post some photos if you can.
