Not sure this is the right place for this post; I'm hesitant to try my 30.06 on my AR500 target at 150 yds for fear of damaging it. Any thoughts?

I have a Caldwell gong that I shoot at 100 with my .338lm. It's holding up just fine to that, so I'm sure you will be good.

Should be fine, 3/8" AR500 is good for cals up to 3000 FPS

Thanks for the replies; I bought the target and stand mostly for pistol shooting as it is the 2/3 size IPSC silhouette...love it but it was pricey. I'll report back when I get a chance to shoot the Rem. 760

Half inch?.....30-06 shouldn't do anything but knock a little paint off.....hammer away.

Ya on 3/8 inch mild steel. 1/2 AR500 will take a 50 bmg till it starts to curve a bit.
edit sorry didn't see the 3/8 ms part.

We use 1/2” AR 500 hung on a swing support with a downward deflect angle ...100/150/200/300M with 338 Lapua Range template. High volume of shooting making contact with the 100M discs, including steel core.. minimal pitting, last for several years.
