Federal has a $5 rebate per box.

No such thing as 'cheap' centre fire ammo.
Cabela's wants $24.99 per 20 for their 'Power Shok' brand. The issue is you have no idea how well your rifle will shoot the stuff without trying a box.
"...someone who reloads in B.C.?..." Isn't legal without a pile of government interference. Far less fuss to reload yourself.
The Federal rebate is good until 30 November. Up to $50. And it doesn't apply to all Federal ammo. It doesn't apply to their Fusion brand.
Remington has a rebate too. Only good until 15 October, but it maxes at $75.

Do you need a permit to reload in B.C.?
Or do you mean they interfere if you reload for a buddy?
I sure hope not, as I reload for a few friends.
The only illegal part would be if I were to sell them my reloads, I don't, I give them away.
Sometimes they bring me gifts of components, or maybe beer.
Am I going to jail???

No permit to reload, not illegal to help a friend reload, not illegal to gift handloads. Definitely illegal to manufacture ammunition for sale without proper permits.

And there's just not much cheap centerfire left. 7.62x39, some sloppy loads of 308, 30-06 by Tulammo. Shooting is expensive, there's no way around it.

Scintillating advice.

Fusion has a rebate too.
:eek1:
But at a limit of 2 is kind of not worth the bother.

:tounge:
Current Tenda prices for 30-06 Federal Power Shok $21.99 per box. It might be worth looking into even shipped.

as for Cabelas they're really lame. Beginning of last month they had a sale on Remington CoreLokt. So I order 10 boxes of 30-30 Winchester. 5 150 gr and 5 170 gr. The 170 was back ordered and they still haven't sent any to me. I'm ready to call them up and cancel.

Kind of funny. Bought reloads at the Dugald gunshow. I didn't know, and I am thinking the seller didn't either.

Yeah I've seen lots of reloads for sale at gun shows too, so I'm not really sure just how illegal it really is.
It might be one of those things that everybody says is illegal, but really isn't.
Possibly geared more to commercial reloaders, not for the guy that reloads a box of 20 for his buddy every two years.

I told you to buy a .308 - at least you can find surplus from time to time.

Cheapest 30-06 is probably Barnaul by the 1k, still $1 a shot.
