Canadian Tire - Sale starts Friday April 13 - I'm only posting the sale prices guys.

http://flyer.canadiantire.ca/canadiantire/default.aspx?action=entryflash&PromotionCode=catire-120413eng&DisplayPageNumber=1&sneakpeek=y&icid=D316%20Flyer%20Preview%20EN%202012&atr=SOURCE_HP&subid=2724810&linkid=Flyer+Preview&et_cid=18547167&et_rid=541339442&linked=Flyer+Preview

190L Rain barrels - 25% off - $91.49
Long handle (fiberglass handle) garden tools - 30% off
Sta-bil fuel stabilizer 30% off
Mastercraft 1350/1050 watt generators - $100 off - $199.99

Now...I don't recommend that generator...the wattage isn't that high. If you're using it as a backup in a power failure, you should look for something that has at least 1750 continuous watts (the lower number). That's equal to one 115 volt household outlet here in Canada. That way, whatever you can plug into the wall, you're pretty much guaranteed it's going to run it.

Then there's all the standard stuff that CT always has on sale...batteries, battery chargers, etc.

Cheers guys.

I bought about $100 worth this week!

It is Loblaws owned I believe so might check your local Loblaws affiliated grocer. ;)

I got a PM from chalkriver he got this off CGN, Figured everyone could benefit from this.

Ok; we have the opportunity to purchase a large number of Rockchucker Supreme Master Reloading Kits. Product # 9361.
https://shop.rcbs.com/WebConnect/Mai...txtSearch=9361
It looks like we can get them out at $300. Thats almost $100 below normal dealer cost AND, with a $300+ purchase, RCBS currently has a rebate on of $50 US Dollars, leaving a net cost of about $250 to the buyer.
http://www.rcbs.com/pdf/RC249_RebateCoupon.pdf
We have to purchase a large number of these so we are putting out this to see if interest is there! Just answer the thread if you are interested. Delivery in about two weeks if we pursue this.

Seeing as how this is in the prepping category, I feel the need to post this. Costco has a Honeywell LP/natural gas backup generator for residential use, not on sale but not a bad price at $2799, I would love to have one for short term relief when the power goes off, but I'm not spending that kind of cash on this house, probably will on the next house though. They have it in various sizes, this is the smallest (and cheapest).

CT gave me a $10 card for spending $60, good for the rest of December. If I had known, I would have run through the short lineup twice and got two!
Free $10 in ammo:).

I found that out at the till yesterday! Speaking of CT, if anyone is looking for a decent trail cam on a budget, I picked this little sucker up yesterday for $99, don't think you can beat it for the price.

The sale starts at Crappy Tire tomorrow. You can get 2 18volt DeWalt batteries, a charger, and a drill for $119.99 I believe it was (don't quote me on that, please check the flyer). That's cheaper than a 2 pack of just the batteries.

I've been kicking the crap out of my Dewalt impact driver and drills for 5 years now with no issues. I've heard that their 20v stuff doesn't want to run when its cold due to the electronics. My 18 volt stuff has worked after spending many nights in my trucks at -30C.

I admit, I have a DeWalt screw gun for putting together stuff like Ikea furniture. For real work with cordless tools, I use Ridgid or Makita although the Milsucky Fuel brushless drill at work has proven robust. When it comes to angle grinders though, absolutely nothing comes close to a Makita. I despise the DeWalt I was given when my Makita died after 2 years of daily abuse and hard work.

Is this the crappy tire Dewalt stuff?

I can say with absolute certainty it is a lower grade version of what a commercial tool shop will carry. My dewalt hammer drill died on its seventh hole into concrete for a small anchor bolt... The service alone is why I'll never buy a Dewalt ever again.

Milwaukee seems to have improved it's cordless stuff after a drop in quality when they first switched to Lithium and stopped building the drills in Germany. My old German made drill was an absolute tank, I think it lasted six or seven years of daily construction abuse....it was heavy as hell, but if they still made that model I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

Makita has been pretty good to me, I seem to wear out the drills every two or three years, but I run two kits and haven't had any other tool break....plus I REALLY abuse the drills. There's a new high torque cordless drill that weighs over double what my current one does, I plan to try it next.

Never been crazy about Dewalt cordless, the new stuff seems a little better. I always hated the clips that held the battery in place on the older stuff, they'd always break and you'd have to carry a roll of duct tape to hold them in place. Their corded stuff has been alright, I've got a jigsaw and two or three grinders....

They had cheap red dot sights and hardware for trailer tie downs. They had those quarter size batteries on sale but never did find them. I have to use the card the lady gave me because we couldn't find what I wanted to try and win $500 bucks.I had been into the Red Deer store a few times the week before buying other hardware they had on sale. So this sale didn't have much I still needed. That and I already had my two bags registered for my trip back home on the plane so couldn't take everything I wanted home.

That and a cheap oil filter and your good to go for another year. My last oil change took two hours as I couldn't get the old filter off for some reason. Last time that happened was when the dealer did the oil change and left the rubber ring of the old filter on there. I usually keep a few of their jugs around the keep my lawn mower running also.

If you're going to be keeping a vehicle for a long time, go to an auto parts store and see what kind of price they'll give you on a case of 12 filters. You'll save a lot that way.

I don't know if it's everybody that's getting the offer or what, but Amazon.ca is offering their "prime" shipping free for 30 days. This gets you free 2 day shipping on all prime eligible stuff. Just make sure you go in and cancel it before the 30 days or up or they're going to automatically sign you up for a year for $70-something dollars.

This worked out perfect. Everything will be here before I leave for training and I didn't have to pay a dime for shipping...much less fast shipping. Yay !

It's a seasonal thing, not around all the time.

But it just arrived at our Costco. Item 9112017 (Nice inside joke code number there) , on for 29.99.

Has everything from C splints to burn items, tick puller, shears, etc. Easily more than 30 bucks worth of stuff. Plus the bag.... Good for the truck, basics for the home, etc.

FYI.

My wife is in for the $70 annual fee. Getting stuff a day or two later is awesome. :) We've easily saved that in shipping fees within the first two weeks. The fact she's a stay-at-home-mom who can accept the daytime delivery is also awesome. ;D

Everything I've read says that dry pasta in a sealed bag will keep for years. I've eaten pasta that was 5 years old and it was just fine.

As for my diet, carbs are a part of a healthy diet. We have pasta about once a week, so I don't really live off it. LOL
