I've been looking for a decently priced (less than $250) laser and light hybrid for a Smith & Wesson M&P.

I've seen a few different ones, but I'm not sure of them...

Barska 2nd gen 5mW Red Laser Sight/Flashlight Combo
https://www.amazon.ca/Barska-Generation-Mount-Laser-Flashlight/dp/B01GDWOXRO/

UTG laser/light
https://www.alflahertys.com/products/utg-sub-compact-light-laser-combo-includes-remote-pressure-switch-lt-elp28r

Anyone used either of them?

Any other options in the aforementioned price range to consider?

Be away alot of them are the same. Just a different logo on it.

The one I got. Its a 1/4 of the cost of the 2 you posted and probably the same.

I have the Barska, bought it from Amazon as well. Too big for a pistol, doesn't fit the rail on my G17 very well. Works good on the side of an AR though, flash light is very bright. Batteries last quite long. Makes a great cat toy...

RobertMcC,
Thanks for the ebay link, I'd never considered ebay for anything firearms related (I thought they were pretty vehemently anti-gun).

The one you posted is pretty similar. It looks a bit smaller than the Barska one (could just be photos though), which if it is... that isn't a bad thing.

Run 'n' Gun,
Thanks for the heads up about the Barska not doing so well on pistols. I'd considered getting one for my AR (down the road) so it's good to know that's a solid choice for that.

And to add to Rob's comment, I have seen the exact same Barska at the LGS with a different label in it.

Yup, I cannot use the one on my airgun because it brings out the cats.

I assume that all these laser sights comply with the wimped out legal consumer laser maximum power output ot 5mW ? Has anybody got one out that you can see in daylight at 25 meters ?

I dropped the ball on getting cheap chinese lasers before they restricted them to 5 mW. There were 20 mW+ ones for really, really cheap not that long ago.

All of the ones I've encountered so far are 5mW.

Though for me, the range I go to is indoor so the 5mW aspect isn't such a huge deal breaker. (And the only guns I own are Restricteds anyway so they're limited to range use.)

If it's daylight out, use your irons!

Canada and United States banned laser pointers over 5mW.
United Kingdom, Australia and much of Europe only allows up to 1mW.
