So we have been working hard to bring sport shooting back to Canadian post secondary institutions. Figured it was about time for an update. We now have:
- 500+ student members
- 40+ competitive shooters
- 13 schools where we are working to start a club
- 9 clubs, 4 of which we helped start this year
- 1 goal: to educate students by bringing shooting sports into the mainstream at Canadian schools

We are working across the country to build new clubs. Our current clubs include:

AMS Shooting Sports at UBC (https://www.facebook.com/UBCShootingSports/)

Carleton Firearms Association (https://www.facebook.com/firearmsassociation/)

Carleton Shotgun (https://www.facebook.com/CUTrapandSkeetTeam/)

LCSA Lethbridge College Firearms Club (https://www.facebook.com/LethFClub/) - new!

Mount Royal Firearms Club (https://www.facebook.com/mountroyalfc/)

University of Calgary Firearms Association (https://www.facebook.com/UCalgaryFA/)

University of Saskatchewan Shooting Federation (https://www.facebook.com/USSFonline/) - new!

UVic Shooting Sports (https://www.facebook.com/groups/567029223817362) - new!

Western Firearms Association (https://www.facebook.com/westernfirearmsassociation/) - new!

In 2019 we have effectively doubled the number of clubs in Canadian schools. Again big thank you to those who have gotten in touch and are working to make our shooting league a success. And a big thanks to GOC for supporting our efforts by giving us a forum. If you are interested in helping start a new club definitely get in touch!

In terms of programs, the smallbore postal comp is ongoing, and the National Trap and Skeet tournament wrapped up at the end of April. Here's a pic of Coach Dean and the Carleton crew freezing their asses off trying to practice:

Well done.

Normalizing shooting sports within that demographic is exactly what this country needs. University campuses, being notoriously left leaning, are precisely where the shooting community needs to work at showing future policy- and lawmakers the truth about shooting.

Exactly. Everyone wants to reduce gun violence, and by educating young Canadians the focus in the future can be on real solutions

Good on ya!! This is a great idea.

How welcoming were the administration and faculty members to this idea? I know that some post secondary institutions are quite closed minded about some ideas.

Is Mount Royal where I think it is? Cause that would be awesome. And does Western=London or Western Canada?

University of Western Ontario. A western is just an omelet.

There's 3 universities in the Waterloo region. They need something like this.

I am aware :P I was just typing quickly on my phone.

Agreed, and there's even an indoor range within city limits. And a bunch of ranges not too far from the city.
