See if Canada Targets will print them up. They do look like they would be fun for a change of pace.

Why don't we get some printed up and have us a match using the honours system?.... We don't all have to be in the same place..... I can print them on regular paper and send them out.....

Fellas since there's interest here GOC will look at printing some poker targets to give out for free, for another promo...

And yes let's have a poker match using the honer system and we can report back here, lol

That's a great idea. Postal matches are a lot of fun.

I'm in for sure, it would also be nice to sub category into groups, ie: precision, black rifle, rimfire, milsrp ect it would be nice to get all the toys out, its been a while since i concentrated on shooting paper

We use a similar target in our weekly rifle league. The target is shot backwards (cards face away from the shooter) and the best 5-card hand wins. Winner doesn't have to pay for targets the next week.

Nothing like going all in blind

i like this idea. make red dots on the back where the cards are, so at least you hit in the general area of a card. lol. it also adds that element of chance the actual card game has. :D

I think the idea of these shoots is to aim and try and make a hand..... if you hit a different card you have to improvise and change what hand you are trying to make..... I would hope anyone here could randomly hit the back of a 8.5 x 11 piece of paper 5 times from 100..... :) .... well... except the pistol guys of course...

Exactly at 100 or 200 yards it really is fun!

We have been trying to organize this exact concept at our range. If someone wants to do something like this around Edson/Edmonton area I would make the effort to go. Or come here to Hinton and shoot with us hillbillies.

Another game that works is the "canadian tire shopping game" Pin up a couple Crappy tire flyers and shoot at a called item.

We used to play poker at 300 yards and it was a bugger to get the hand you wanted. We only had "hunting" rifles so no precision. You kept shooting until you got your 5 card hand.

We played on a huge board with real cards on the board. Oh and everyone played on a single board so if someone shot a card, no one else could get that card just like real poker.

That sounds like a nice way to spend a afternoon or early morning shooting and it can be done almost at any range.

If in doubt, cheap .22LR at 100 yards also works well.

The whole point of the poker is that there is a little randomness in your shots, there has to be a chance you'll miss the card you want.

I created this target (https://dl.dropbox.com/u/44641205/PokerTarget.pdf)for fun with a .22 - you can use it to play any card game really.

The cards should be .75" x 1" except for the aces which should be .75" square. The gutters are .25" so if you're shooting smallbore, you should not be able to hit two cards with one shot.

I also made up another target (https://dl.dropbox.com/u/44641205/NumbersTarget.pdf)for a buddy whose daughter is having trouble with her math. So when they go plinking, she has to add up her scores. All that target consists of are 1" circles with numbers inside.

I like the targets you created Pubb. Just scheeming how to use them in a mile shoot!! Hmmm maybe out at 1000 yards drawn on a fridge box.

I can resize the cards - what kind of accuracy is challenging but not impossible at that range? 2"x3"?

They can be divided up on different pages....might just take 8-10 regular sheets of paper....

You could blow it up to 11x17 or A4 paper on a photocopier. Or create a PDF and make the paper 4 by 11x17.
